After a 2-year break due to the pandemic, the Island’s oldest event for all things gardening is taking place in Rookley at the start of May.
Sunday 1st May will see the return of ‘Gardening Galore!’ to the Village Hall and Sports Field at Highwood Lane.
After a very tough couple of years, those Island-based horticultural organisations and nurseries that have survived need all the support that the Island can give them.
Taking place between 10:00 and 15:00, a variety of growers, nurseries, garden centres and suppliers of all sorts of things for your garden will be available for you to browse.
Entry is absolutely free, as is the adjacent parking, which means that there’s no worry about carrying your purchases around with you, just pop them back to your car… and shop some more.
Refreshments will be available in the Village Hall, including lots of homemade cakes cooked and served by Rookley W.I.
Each year a charity bucket collection takes place as you leave and this year it is for ‘Friends of the Animal’.

This sounds great-we will be there, for sure !
