Do you live on the Isle of Wight? Are you or your loved ones waiting for hospital treatment? Healthwatch Isle of Wight is asking the public to share their experience and views of waiting for hospital treatment.
Many people have had their hospital treatment delayed by the pandemic – are you one of them? Healthwatch wants to know if you’re getting the advice and information you need while you wait. They also want to know if you would consider treatment at an alternative hospital in Winchester, if it was available.
It’s vital that NHS decision makers hear your experience so that your views can inform work being undertaken by the NHS to reduce waiting times for planned hospital treatment. Whether it’s gynecological surgery, a knee replacement or a biopsy you’re waiting for, if you’ve got a story to tell, they are here to listen.
Healthwatch will be anonymously sharing your feedback with NHS decision makers to help them understand what needs to be put in place to better support people waiting for treatment like you. So, whether your experience is good or could be improved – Healthwatch IW want to hear it.

It’s all about getting treatment in Winchester!!!
They can’t even properly care gif patients in st Mary’s on some wards- atrocious really. Wrong ward, issue never dealt with whole time in there and now words off than before my uncle went in
I get the feeling after filling in this survey that we will not have a hospital as such on the Island, we will all be shipped out to hospitals on the mainland. St Mary’s will just end up being a healthcare centre like a massive GP surgery

You’re not a patient anymore, you’re a problem. The hospital here is atrocious, I’m not taking a shot at the frontline folk who actually do the work, in my experience all I have to offer is positive.
Anyone above hands on work is THE ACTUAL PROBLEM too many managers, admin etc. We get less care, they get more pay.
