The Isle of Wight will Go Yellow for Mountbatten tomorrow (Friday 11th October).
A series of fundraising events are taking place, involving schools, businesses and councils.
Fundraisers, including teams at St Mary’s Hospital’s outpatients department, East Cowes Town Council, Pet Doctors and Eldridges Solicitors, will be wearing yellow.
Shanklin’s CatURpillars children’s group will be making paper sunflowers and serving yellow snacks and a host of primary schools will be among those marking the day.
Shanklin community library will display yellow books while Yarmouth WI is having a coffee morning
On Sunday, between 14:00 and 19:00, enjoy an over 18s day disco – all the fun, none of the late nights – at Strings Bar and Venue in Newport. Book tickets through the event organiser, Sunday Skool (https://sundayskool.co.uk/buy-tickets)
Enjoy some pampering while raising funds, with By Ells beauty and Canva 10 nails, both in Newport. Meanwhile school cater, Chartwells, is donating 10p from each school meal sold on Friday.
All this week, Mountbatten Isle of Wight has been hosting free walking tours and encouraging visitors and staff to take part in our treadmill challenge, at the John Cheverton Centre off Halberry Lane in Newport.
Whatever you wear, eat or do, make it YELLOW and help us raise vital funds for our 24/7 hospice and community services, delivered in patients’ homes and across the Island. Whether pounds or pennies, anything you raise during Go Yellow 2024 will help our Mountbatten nurses and carers be there for Islanders.
Don’t forget to let Mountbatten and everyone else know what you’re doing and why. Add an eye-catching photo, add a link to your fundraising page, use #GoYellow. Don’t forget to tag Mountbatten Isle of Wight on Facebook, Instagram and Threads.
