Freshwater local Izzy Coelho is to walk 519 miles along the Pilgrim Way Route in Northern Spain next month to raise funds for Freshwater Independent Lifeboat.
Setting off on 17th September and returning on 21st October Izzy will complete the Camino De Santiago De La Costa, a route that follows the old Roman road, the Via Agrippa –which was used in the Middle Ages by Christian pilgrims.
Heading off from Irun – a Spanish town on the French Border – Izzy will pass through Spanish cities, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Santander, and Gijon before finishing the gruelling challenge in Santiago De Compostella, the capital of the Galician region in North West Spain.
This is something Izzy has wanted to do for many many years and at last it has come to fruition, but with the added bonus that it will hopefully provide much-needed funds for Freshwater Independent Lifeboat, a charity close to his heart, now was the perfect time.
Anyone wishing to donate to the cause can do so here.

Sorry stopped giving money to the lifeboat after finding out over 50% of their money is used picking up ILLEGAL migrants so enjoy your walk Izzy but no sponsor money coming from my way mate!!!
