A sinkhole that opened up on The Mall in Brading over the Bank Holiday weekend has led to the road’s closure.
Island Roads say they are working with partners to identify the cause of the void that has opened up in the middle of the carriageway.
The issue was discovered on Friday afternoon.
The road is closed to through traffic and barriers have been erected around the immediate area.
The main road through Brading remains open and residents of The Mall are still able to access their homes.

Possibly the clip board man and his assistant haven’t looked yet and filled out a 6 page form. When he does can he also look at the patches of road breaking up Sandown side of Wilton garage. Are any roads and paths being resurfaced this year or is that all finished?
Surely repairing the hole would be better than” standing looking into it”
Probably a leaking water main
