Island Line services have been suspended this morning (Thursday) due to a technical issue with the track.
All trains between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin have been brought to a stop whilst engineers work to resolve the situation.
It’s said that a section of rail has broken.
Disruption is expected to continue until 11:00 this morning.
For further information or onward travel advice speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
UPDATE @ 09:05 – Trains are now running once again but a speed restriction has been imposed on the section of track between Ryde Pier Head and Smallbrook Junction. This means trains may be cancelled, delayed or changed.

That train and track should be sent to the nackers yard, and replaced by Haven Street steam railway….
It would probably make a profit for a change…..
In more exciting news, who is the hunky new silver fox guard on the trains? So handsome! Makes the ride much more enjoyable 🙂
Agreed . I think a little fan club should be made for the hunky new guard. I’m sure he would love it.
