Businesses and organisations that supported firefighters during the major Headon Warren wildfire last month have been recognised for their generosity and support.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has presented awards to The Needles, The Waterfront Bar & Restaurant, Stoats Farm and Warren Farm in recognition of the support they provided to crews during the lengthy incident.

Firefighters were provided with food, drinks and places to take a break while tackling the wildfire, which burned for several days.
A spokesperson for the service said:
“Throughout this hot period, our firefighters have been aided by the generosity and kindness of those within our communities, who have provided food, drink and break-out spaces during the long and often arduous incidents they have been faced with.
“Thank you to all the local residents and businesses who have provided and offered their support to our teams.”
The fire service is continuing to urge the public to help prevent large outdoor fires by packing a picnic instead of lighting a barbecue, avoiding bonfires, ensuring smoking materials are fully extinguished and taking litter home.
