Police have launched an investigation after a dog killed 2 cats in a garden in Sandown last night (Wednesday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 22:54 on 30th July with reports that a dog had attacked 2 cats. The incident occurred on Winchester Close in Sandown.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that 1 had been killed and the other badly injured. Police have since confirmed that the 2nd cat has succumbed to its injuries.
Island Echo understands that the dog was seen running around the local area holding the cat in its mouth.
Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
The dog involved is now home! Why? Those people have now lost their cats to a horrendous attack! Is it going to take for it to kill a child before it is destroyed?
For once even I am lost for words, so sad.

Someone is responsible for that dog, but I bet they don’t have the guts to own up.
It is time dog licenses were reintroduced.They are mandatory in one part of the UK still. Owners need to control their dogs and take responsibility.

It’s not all dog owners. These particular people do not deserve to have animals. Letting the dog run riot, it’s often running loose and now to catch 3 cats in its mouth, (jaw) and kill them, that dog needs destroying. Having to bury your cat when it’s wasn’t its time is unacceptable. The police need to get on the case before it’s a child/ adult in the dogs jaw.

meanwhile, children are being abused, shops and homes robbed, assaults and rapes occuring. The police really need to rethink their priorities
A absolutely disgusting dog, and equally disgusting owners,,the dog should of been destroyed months ago, as it’s always been the same and has attacked many dogs and cats before it was given to the current owners, , the two owners are a walking examples of why we need birth control, they should not be allowed animals ever again,
