The first annual Super Hero Walk for Daisy Chains IW took place from Hope Beach to Yaverland on Saturday (13th April). 25 children walked the 2.5 miles meeting superheroes along the way and collecting stickers on their superhero walk cards as they went. The walk – which was put on by Daisy Chains IW and sponsored by The Holiday Shop – set off at 11:00 by Superhero Thor. The children met other superheroes at each mile point along the way. They were then awarded a medal at the end for their achievement by Captain America. Mandy Fuller and Kellie Lawrence, Fundraising managers of Daisy Chains IW, said:
“The walk was a huge success, and the running total of monies raised so far is £2,000 which is amazing; we hope to be back next year and make the walk an even bigger success. “Thank you to everyone who sponsored, supported or took part yesterday. It was a huge success for the charity.”
