Iceland is to open its third store on the Isle of Wight which will be integrated with The Range in Cowes, it has been confirmed.
Shoppers to the popular home store on Place Road will soon be able to pick up a wide variety of Iceland foodstuffs thanks to a strategic alliance formed between The Range and Iceland in 2018.
Island Echo can reveal that Iceland’s Cowes outlet is set to open next month on Friday 12th February. Both The Range and Iceland are permitted to be open during the coronavirus lockdown.
In line with the addition of Iceland, the existing store departments will be moved around slightly to create more space.
It has been confirmed that Iceland’s store in Newport will remain open. It means that the Isle of Wight will boast stores in Ryde, Newport, Cowes and The Food Warehouse in Newport.

How the range gets away justifying staying open as an essential retailer I don’t know. They only sell a few biscuits and soft drinks and other food junk.
Isn’t it because they are also a garden centre and sell hardware?
They also sell pet food etc we live in cowes and shop in the range regularly for the pets and toiletries, cleaning products, garden products. I’d rather go to the range than one of the big supermarkets that are rammed!
They sell pet food so have permission to stay open
Food/Drink
Cleaning products
Medicines
Pet products
Essential hardware
Gardening products
Stationery
That’s why…
No different to Poundland or B&M. But as always, because its not in Newport, everyone thinks it should be shut.
