Hovertravel have suspended their Ryde-Southsea service this afternoon (Saturday) due to adverse weather conditions.
Strong gusts on the Solent mean the Flyer craft are currently unable to operate.
Although Hovertravel say an update is due at 16:30, it is unlikely that services will resume at that point with a yellow weather warning coming into force at 17:00.
As previously reported by Island Echo, a spell of strong winds accompanied by some potentially very heavy rain will develop.
Red Funnel are advising that they anticipate disruption to their Red Jet service between Cowes and Southampton later on today.
UPDATE @ 19:55 – Red Funnel have suspended their Red Jet service for the remainder of today due to the adverse conditions.
Hovertravel have also announced that they will not be resuming their service until Sunday morning.
