Hovertravel has suspended its cross-Solent service for the 2nd time today (Friday) due to a technical issue. Throughout the month of November, the cross-Solent operator is running a 1-craft service with a revised timetable to allow annual maintenance to be carried out. It means that the entire operation is reliant on just 1 Flyer hovercraft – but a technical fault has developed rending the craft unavailable. The service was ground to a halt first thing this morning but engineers were able to get things back up and running by 07:15. Now, Hovertravel says another technical issue has arisen meaning that services have been suspended once again. An update will be provided at 13:00. In the meantime, tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth Harbour. UPDATE @ 13:20 – Services have now resumed with the 13:15 from Ryde.
UPDATED: HOVERS OFF FOR THE SECOND TIME TODAY AS TECHNICAL ISSUE HITS ONCE AGAIN
