UPDATED: HOVERS OFF DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

Hovertravel have suspended their cross-Solent service between Ryde and Southsea this afternoon (Friday).

Adverse weather conditions have been blamed for the cancellation – the second in as many days.

An update is expected from the operator at 14:30, although it is unknown if the winds will have died down enough for the service to resume.

Wightlink and Red Funnel services are running to timetable this afternoon.

UPDATE @ 15:55 – Hovertravel’s service remains suspended with the next update at 17:00.

UPDATE @ 19:35 – Services have now resumed between Ryde and Southsea.
