Hovertravel has suspended its cross-Solent service this evening (Friday) as strong winds pick up across the South.
Adverse weather conditions mean that the hovers are unable to safely operate between Ryde and Southsea.
An update is expected from the travel operator at 07:45 tomorrow morning, but it is likely there will be significant disruption to services this weekend.
Tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service from Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth Harbour.
As previously reported by Island Echo, a yellow weather warning for severe gales has been issued.
UPDATE SATURDAY – Hovertravel has confirmed that its service remains suspended this morning, with an update due at 09:45.
Tickets are still being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service.
