A power cut has hit homes and businesses in Seaview this morning (Wednesday).
A total of 52 postcode areas in PO33 1 and PO34 5 are affected by the network fault, which is understood to be around 900 homes. The area includes parts of Nettlestone.
Supply was lost at 11:19.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are aware of the issue and have sent engineers out to investigate.
It is currently estimated that power will be restored by 14:30.
For further information about this power cut call the dedicated helpline by dialling 105.
Alternatively, you can send SSEN a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity).
App: Did you know SSEN also have a mobile phone app where you can report, locate, track and subscribe to faults in your area?

Yet more power shedding when will these firms be fined for this unacceptable practice
It’s like living in a third world country with all these power cuts, should never privatise essential infrastructure.
Stop your moaning! That’s life just get on with it.
But still having to pay for something you`re not getting
Certainly it is like a third world country in so many ways now. Too many people breeding us into overcrowding, poverty and crime.
It will get ever worse as more and more homes are built on the Island, but no upgrades in energy supplies, water, gas, landfill, roads, schools, doctors, dentists, etc.
But those who make millions from developing and those who are corrupt and get well thanked don’t care, as they can afford to go private for all these things, thanks to their position and corrupt but profitable ways.
So the poor get poorer and a worse life, whilst those at the top get better off and care less for those at the bottom. As you say like a third world country.
dilligaf – have you been cut off yet? Will you sit there in the dark whistling ‘always look on the bright side of life’ when you do. Agree with Clare 100%
Yes I agree Clare and
Yes I agree with Clare and steve, they really know thier stuff. Ifthey weren’t privatized then that digger driver would never have hit that cable. That makes him a power shedder.
