HERD Footwear, a new sneaker shop with a passion for streetwear and standout kicks, has opened in Shanklin, offering everything from Air Max to baby-sized Vans.
The independent store, located at 48 High Street, is the creation of local entrepreneur Clarice Shepherd, who has turned her long-standing love of trainers into a full-time venture.
HERD features popular brands including Nike, Adidas, Converse, Vans, New Balance and Jordans, along with a children’s range that includes Crocs and limited-edition styles.
The shop’s interior pairs bold design with earthy touches, using upcycled furniture, wicker shelving, and a variety of plants to create a relaxed and welcoming space. A kids’ section features miniature shoes and rain boots marked “FOR PLAYING”.
HERD, which officially opened its doors for the first time on Saturday (2nd August), also offers a growing selection of accessories, including socks, cleaning kits, display boxes and keyrings.
Clarice has said:
“I’ve loved trainers for as long as I can remember. I still laugh thinking back to turning 18, trying to wear heels and desperately wanting my trainers back on!
“My sister used to work at Skintrade and I’d always be in there eyeing up the latest Vans. Now I’ve built my own personal collection which I rotate – I just love everything about the culture and style of trainers.”
Following a busy launch weekend, the business is now open and trading, with new stock and additions expected in the weeks ahead.
