A proposal for a new 7-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) has been lodged with the Isle of Wight Council.
Mr and Miss Jerram have applied for a change of use of 1 Butts Road in Haylands – a residential property near Upton Road Park.
The plan is not considered to result in ‘unacceptable harm’ to the character of the area, neighbouring amenity or highway safety, their agent Holbrook Architectural Services said.
Planned internal arrangements include individual letting rooms, a shared kitchen, bathroom and communal facilities.
Future occupiers would have access to local services, facilities and public transport options, according to a submitted Planning Statement.
Holbrook Architectural Services told the Isle of Wight Council:
“A combination of en-suite and shared bathroom facilities are provided throughout the property.
“The proposal also incorporates provision for cycle and refuse storage within the site, together with retained generous parking and garage facilities.
“The proposal represents an appropriate and sustainable use of the existing property within an established residential location.”
County Hall’s public consultation on application 26/00748/FUL runs until 7th September and a decision is due on 30th September.
