Gritters will be treating the Island’s road network twice – both this evening (New Year’s Eve) and tomorrow morning – due to the freezing temperatures being experienced across the Isle of Wight.
Temperatures have barely risen above 2c in Ryde today with more rural spots such as Niton in the South currently seeing -1c.
Island Roads say that the first gritting run will be carried out at 17:00, with a top up run 12 hours later at 05:00 on New Year’s Day.
