Island Roads’ fleet of gritters is gearing up to treat the Isle of Wight road network for the third day running, with the first of 2 runs scheduled for 16:00 this afternoon (Thursday).
As the temperature plummets, bringing wintery showers across the Isle of Wight, Island Roads says it is preparing to carry out 2 full salting runs over the coming hours.
Gritters will be deployed from Stag Lane at 16:00 this afternoon and again at 04:30 on Friday morning.
Motorists are being advised to take additional care on the roads.
