The Island’s fleet of gritters are out and about across the road network tonight (Saturday) as the temperature drops ahead of a much colder week ahead.
A precautionary gritting run is taking place on all designated routes as part of Island Roads’ PFI Winter Maintenance obligations.
Bridge decks are also being treated at Stag Lane (cycle path) and Foxes Road, Newport.
By next weekend temperatures will be falling to as low as 1c.
