The newly formed Greenpeace Isle of Wight group will be holding a showcasing event at the Unitarian Meeting Hall in Newport on 12th October.
The event will be part of The Common Ground’s Day of Action a national event organised by a variety of groups such as WWF and the Climate Alliance. It is being held 100 days after the general election to increase awareness of environmental issues and to discuss how we can go forward.
On showcase will be the great work that local environmental groups are doing. All are welcome; local MPs have been invited and plan to attend. Island councillors have also been invited. The event will be from 13:00-15:00 at the Unitarian Meeting House, 9 High Street, Newport. PO30 1SS. There will be hot drinks, biscuits and cake.
There will be stalls showcasing the different work being done by our amazing local environmental groups such as: The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, The Solent Seascape Project, The Wilder Communities Project, Blue Seas Protection, Plastic Free Bembridge, Together for Mission Zero, IOW Biosphere and Greenpeace IOW.
