GOFUNDME LAUNCHED FOR BRADING FAMILY DISPLACED BY DEVASTATING FIRE

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up by the community of Brading to support a ‘lovely’ family displaced by a devastating fire which ripped through 2 properties during the early hours of this morning (Friday). As previously reported by Island Echo, a semi-detached home went up in flames shortly before 02:50, with the blaze quickly spreading to the adjoining property which has also been severely damaged. A 60-year-old man was airlifted to Salisbury Hospital for treatment for burns sustained in the fire. Thankfully, all other persons escaped unharmed. In the wake of the shocking incident, with aerial photographs from Island Echo revealing the extent of the damage, neighbours have decided to rally around to raise money to help Jo, Erin and Meg begin to rebuild their lives. The family has been left homeless just weeks before Christmas and it is unknown when – or if – they will be able to return home.
