11th Newport Guides recently visited the Isle of Wight Council chambers as part of Parliament Week, where they met Councillor Claire Critchison, the Mace Bearer and the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Maurice Sheen CBE. They learnt about the history of the Mace, which was made in 1690, the history of the Lord-Lieutenancy, and about the Council Chairperson’s role at council meetings. They also learnt about the heritage collections held at the Guildhall Museum. Parliament Week is planned by the UK’s Parliament in Westminster to allow girls to understand the workings of Parliament together with the workings of central and local government. Over the years, a number of Isle of Wight Girlguiding Units have taken part, as this enables girls to understand these institutions, with topics ranging from the suffragette movement to the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Those making a visit to units have included local MPs and their Parliamentary Office staff whilst Guides and Brownies have made a visit to County Hall, Newport, to see how the Isle of Wight Council functions. Emma, Leader of 11th Newport Guides said:
“UK Parliament Week is held every year and it’s a chance for our younger members of the country to learn about Parliament and what local councils do.”

Older drivers as you put it are unlikely to be drink drug driving with their foot to the floor, showing off and trying to look the big man behind the wheel.
Older drivers as you will be one day are just trying to maintain a life where they can be independent not being a bother to anyone.

It’s a bathtub curve, you are more likely to be involved in an accident when you are young and old and less likely in the middle. I do however think there should be a mandatory driving safety test for all over 70s.
Also, mandatory retesting every 5 years for everyone including theory test.

The report doesn’t say the driver was either of those that were injured. Typical lack of precise information by the reporter that leaves these comment posters open to pure guesswork. With a bit more detail, the dipsticks wouldn’t have anything stupid to say….
Young female, single vehicle collision, say no more.
There were apparently 3 involved the driver was an adult and one of the younger girls were admitted to hospital by an ambulance, reporters should gather full information before exposing it to the public
Most likely statistical probability was a teenage girl doing tiktok, what are the chances that theres 2 articles in 1 day for adults driving kids and flipping a car over, impossible, it was almost certainly tiktok/texting/lipstick or that stupid thing that girls do whrre they have to maintain full eye contact when talking whilst driving.
