The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to a residential address in East Cowes earlier this afternoon (Tuesday) after a garden fire spread.
Firefighters from Newport and East Cowes responded to the property on Consort Gardens at 14:57, alongside a duty fire officer.
Upon arrival, it was realised that an out of control bonfire in the garden was threatening the house.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire before it could cause any further damage.
Both appliances stood down a short while after.

Goodness, lucky they got there in time.
Yes shame they were to lazy to go to the tip.
Not quite an accurate report…I should know my property was threatened by my neighbours’ actions. It wasn’t a bonfire….it was a petrol filled generator which caught light….a very frightening experience
