FURTHER STORM DAMAGE STRIKES SANDOWN & SHANKLIN INDEPENDENT LIFEBOAT BOATHOUSE

Crew members from Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat (SSILB) will be busy in The Bay – but not on the water – working to repair further damage to their onshore facilities. Adverse weather has once again damaged the boathouse door. This has serious implications for launching the lifeboat to save those finding themselves in danger at sea. This is the 2nd time storms have struck the boathouse: it was made inoperable after Storm Ciaran in November of last year.
