PICTURE GALLERY: Fundraisers dashed along the sands and splashed in the sea between Shanklin and Yaverland this afternoon (Saturday) for the first Dash and Splash event, raising much needed funds for the Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat.
The event began at the old Shanklin Pier at 13:05 with participants rapidly making their way through and around groynes before crossing the finish line at Yaverland, where medals were handed out to all participants.
It is hoped that the 5km run can become an annual event held in aid of both town’s independent lifeboat, who were on the water ensuring the safety of the event.
