New research has named Freshwater Bay the 2nd best place to paddleboard in the UK.
Outdoor experts at GO Outdoors named the best places to go wild swimming in the UK, looking at the water quality, average sunshine hours, popularity, and wind speed
Their study also examined the best places to go wild swimming, surfing and kayaking as well as the best water sports attraction in the UK.

Freshwater Bay, with a score of 8.99 out of 10., is ranked in 2nd place. It is one of the most charming beaches on the Isle of Wight, surrounded by tall white cliffs and clear waters, making it an excellent spot for paddle boarding.
It offers scenic beauty and favourable weather conditions, with sea temperatures reaching as high as 20.9°C in August and an average of 1,699 sunshine hours a year.
Parking is also available in this location, with the closest car park costing £3.60 for a two-hour visit.
