Freshwater Bay Golf Club hosted its first Mixed Competition of the year in near-perfect sunny, windless conditions, setting the stage for an enjoyable day of golf.
A strong turnout took full advantage of the favourable weather, with competitors enjoying both the golf and a lovely meal together afterwards, adding to the social spirit of the occasion.
On the course, scoring proved extremely tight. Dot Porter and Wayne Lewis emerged as winners after a closely fought contest, finishing on 39 points. They edged out Paula Burke and Nick Punter on countback, with the runners-up also posting an impressive 39 points.
The event marked a successful and enjoyable start to the club’s mixed competition calendar, combining competitive play with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
