The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and the Earl and Countess of Wessex will all visit the Isle of Wight next month as part of the bicentenary celebrations of the Royal Yacht Squadron, Island Echo can reveal.
The four Royal Family members will visit Cowes together on Friday 5th June for a RYS Fleet Review, a church service at Holy Trinity Church and a Beating Retreat – a military musical ceremony – followed by dinner.
Prince Phillip, The Duke of Edinburgh, is both admiral and a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron and is set to attend a number events in Cowes throughout his day-long visit. He last visited the Island in August of last year during Cowes Week.
Preparations are well underway for the visit in less than 3 weeks time, which will be centered around The Parade area of Cowes.
The 90-minute long Fleet Review is due to take place mid-afternoon followed by the church service in the early evening. The Beating Retreat will take place afterwards on The Parade.
