Shanklin’s Retro Hobby and Game shop has moved a few doors up the road into the former Lloyd’s Bank building.
The bank on Regent Street, which has been sat empty since July last year, has been refurbished and is now home to the popular local outlet.
The shop features a new Gaming Zone where customers can play retro computer games for £5 and stay as long as they like playing their favourite games.
Later in the year a Warhammer workshop and gambling table will be established where enthusiasts of the world’s most popular tabletop miniatures game can meet friends and fight as ancient civilisations battle in a grim and distant future.
Retro Hobby and Game will be continuing their core business of buying and selling Pokemon, consoles, games, Dr Martens, vinyl LPs, Corgi, Dinky and model railways, Action Man, Airfix and Revel.
Speaking about the shop opening, proprietor Luke Hawkins has said:
“We are very excited to have our new Retro Hobby and Game shop ready for the Easter holiday weekend. It’s been a huge amount of work to get the shop ready.
“We moved into the converted Lloyds Bank on the 1st March, and in last month the team have excelled themselves setting up the new shop, moving stock and ordering new lines from our key suppliers such as Bachmann, Corgi, Hornby and Pokemon.
