Police are continuing their forensic search of a property in Ryde today (Saturday) as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Scott Cooper.
Specialist forensic investigators from the mainland have returned to the Island on day 2 of the search of a residential address at Jellicoe Road.
As first reported by Island Echo, Police arrived on the quiet residential street last night with several officers in white suits seen entering the semi-detached property. The search was halted at around 21:00 with officers remaining outside the property overnight.
Now, further forensic examination of the property is taking place whilst detectives conduct door to door enquiries in the area. It is currently unclear what the connection is between the deceased, the suspects and the Jellicoe Road home.
Forensic teams have also returned to the scene of the murder in George Street, gathering further evidence to support the investigation and the prosecution.
38-year-old Piers Brazier has been charged with the murder of 33-year-old Scott Cooper at a flat in George Street, Ryde on Tuesday. He will appear before the court in Southampton later today.
A 28-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody at this time. However, a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.

Can’t imagine it is anything but drugs connected, seems to be the main cause of most crimes here, until the delights of the mainland fill the thousands of homes yet to be built, then, and only then, will the Island know what real crime is.
It’s easy to speculate on what led to this man losing his life, but the fact is, nobody other than those involved actually know. There could be any number of reasons. However, in my opinion, whatever led to this tragedy happening, nothing is worth someone’s life. My thoughts are with the family of Scott at this time.
How do you know? Wow the police could benefit from you couldn’t they.
so the sad murder of a young man can only get a comment like yours.
no one knows officially so maybe just pay some respect for the family and their loss
A quick internet search re the man charged reveals quite a lot….
People in glass houses just love to throw stones. I see certain people making some very mean comments about the deceased young man. Look in the mirror and ask the person you see looking back at you, if you are some kind of saint, before casting the first stone. You know who you are.
Even on a murder article, someone still manages to have a pop at mainlanders?!
Perhaps if you stopped breeding with your relatives and accepted modern thinking this island wouldn’t be such a state
Totally Agree. If it wasn’t for the mainlanders. No work would be done over here. The ferry’s are full each morning docking at Ryde pier and on return to Portsmouth
Like said the islanders are to busy interbreeding with there own and do nothing but take and deal drugs all there Lifes.Unfortunately that’s all they know.Hence the huge drug/Driving.Drink and crime is so bad here.No chance of educating these fossils. You can spot them a mile away. The island needs mainland people to keep this island going.Otherwise if not already.Something out of the walking Dead.Wrong turn.Shutter island….
So incredibly sad. Condolences to the family ❤
I don’t talk bad about the dead, so I won’t. Rip .
