The rollout of water butts, watering cans, compost, seed trays and ‘lucky dip’ seeds by The Footprint Trust is underway in a bid to help Islanders save water.
These kits are perfect for home or allotment use and are a great starter for growing your own vegetables.
The kits are open to anyone living on the Isle of Wight as The Footprint Trust would like to support everyone in being able to save water and save money.
One of those Islanders to benefit has said:
“Thank you so much for the water butt which arrived this morning together with a couple of extra unexpected items. I am very grateful.”
Another said:
“We have today received our water butt et al, and are over the moon with it. Thank you ever so much and keep up the good work.”
This is proving to be a very popular project, with 355 applications for kits so far. If you have not ordered yours yet and would like to, you can email [email protected] or telephone 01983 822282.
Keep a look out for the Hurst’s van and delivery drivers, Steve and Dan, who are kindly dropping off everyone’s order.

Great idea, thank you very much.
