UPDATE @ 17:50 – It has been confirmed that emergency services were called to reports of a ‘male who had collapsed in his garden’ at an address on Trinity Road.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson has said that they were called to the incident at 16:13 to assist paramedic crews due to the casualty behaving erratically.
The patient has been transferred to St Mary’s Hospital via land ambulance, followed by a police vehicle.
In Rookley, an incident has occurred in which a patient has ‘escaped’ from an ambulance near the village shop – although it is unclear at this early stage if the 2 incidents are connected.

Really or are they making another boring soap
Escaped? How bizarre..
How odd! Followed by a police vehicle too? Did they stop en route at the co-op? How can they let the patient “escape”?
At a guess, maybe someone with mental health issues that needed to go to hospital but refused? Either self harm or mentally disabled? Some with mental disabilities can become very distressed in situations like this. Can be extremely frightening for them.
Yes I understand that but the air ambulance? Was that really necessary?
Who are you to say what is necessary or not? Unless you are a medical professional you shouldn’t have an opinion.
Sorry to have an opinion I thought that was still allowed even in these strange times but it obviously wasn’t needed as I saw it land and fly back off again! I don’t claim to be a medical professional just had a perfectly reasonable opinion so no need to be so nasty.
I AGREE
I think he had heard about St.Marys
‘s
Wherever did they manage to land a helicopter in Bonchurch, good flying!
If you dont know what has happened why do you make comments you dont know nothing about. Just letting you know.
Well said the person obviously must of either been very distressed of he may have not like people in uniform!!! Just a suggestion no one know what happen or the full story of the individual so people shouldn’t judge !!!!!
