FIRE SERVICE CALLED IN TO ASSIST PARAMEDICS IN MOVING PATIENT AT NEWPORT PROPERTY

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is assisting colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with moving an unwell individual from a property in Newport this morning (Friday).

1 appliance and an Aerial Ladder Platform – both from Newport – are currently on scene at Castle Road.

The incident began at around 08:20 following a request from the ambulance service.

It’s understood that the emergency services are working to extricate someone from a residential property through a window.

The one-way street is currently closed to all traffic, with motorists being diverted locally.

I saw them during the school run with the massive engine with the huge telescopic arm & platform on it, looked a tricky rescue as Castle Road is narrow & the engine only just fitted!
