UPDATED: Firefighters from Newport and East Cowes are attending an engine room fire aboard a small boat in East Cowes this afternoon (Friday).
2 appliances are currently situated on the apron of the famous Columbine ‘Union Jack’ building having been called to the scene at just gone 15:00.
Crews are working to tackle the fire on board a small boat moored at Venture Quays.
UPDATE @ 16:10 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have now stood down from the incident having successfully extinguished the fire.
No one has been injured in the incident.
