The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue has mobilised firefighters from Newport to reports of a fire in the open near Cowes this afternoon (Thursday).
1 appliance has been sent to the scene near Coronation Avenue in Northwood after a caller reported seeing smoke in the area.
The incident is ongoing, with firefighters currently looking for the source of the smoke after turning out shortly after 12:05.
Still puzzled why they insist on using FIRE IN THE OPEN
as opposed to OUTDOOR FIRE ???
