Young dance stars recently took to the stage for the 1st time as Róisín Mullins Dance Academy gave a festive performance of Riverdance style Irish Dancing in Brading. The CLRG registered Irish Dance Academy – which recently offered 3 weeks of free Celtic Dance tuition to all children as a Christmas gift – is run by former Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance star, UK Champion and Bronze world medallist, Róisín Mullins. In celebration of the academy’s achievements, the festive awards recognised the Irish dancer’s individual talent and development during 2023. The troupe were praised, with awards made for different aspects such as progression, character, confidence, leadership, stage presence, strength and courage during adversity. Róisín commented:
“I have been delighted to see how rapidly our young dancers have developed their dance technique and confidence. They have worked incredibly hard. Our youngest performers were only 3 years old, and entertained family and friends with huge Christmas spirit. “It has been massively rewarding to pass on the gift of dance this Christmas to the next generation, especially, at such a challenging time for young families. I have done this for the love of dance, and to give our dance families a happy Christmas. “I am very proud of our supportive dance community and congratulate our Festive Award winners. I am looking forward to welcoming more new dancers in 2024.”
