As previously reported by Island Echo, the 42-year-old was travelling along Coach Lane at around 20:15 on Wednesday when he was involved in a collision with a car and then a second collision with another car.
Despite the best efforts of all involved, Mr Daniel died in Southampton General Hospital the next morning with his family around him.
In a statement, the family of the popular Ryde man have said:
“Lee Daniel is a well known, much loved Ryde man.
“He loved to see the world and lived life to the fullest. Lee was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend to all and a devoted daddy to Kia.
“We have never known a more hardworking, tenacious person, he would do anything for anyone. There is a hole in all our hearts forever more.
“We would like to thank all the medical staff for their efforts, also we would like to thank the police for their continued support, and furthermore a big thank you to Red Funnel for all their help.
“Lastly thank you to everyone for all the kind words and love you have shown to us and of course shown to the wonderful man – Lee”
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing. Anyone with information which could help Police with their enquiries is asked to contact Sgt Richard Grant at Eastleigh Police Station on 101, quoting Operation Wood. Information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
