A large tree has fallen across the main road in the village of Godshill tonight (Wednesday).
School Road – the A3020 – is completely blocked between Godshill Primary School and the village shop.
It means that local traffic is diverting using backroads. All other traffic is now having to divert via Whitwell and Ventnor, or Arreton and Whitely Bank.
Southern Vectis says that it’s Route 3 buses are not serving Godshill or Wroxall until further notice.
Reports have also been received of a fallen tree on Middle Road, between Calbourne and Newport.
Earlier today a large tree blocked Oakhill Road in Seaview, prompting a response from Island Roads and its contractors.
UPDATE THURSDAY – The road has now reopened. All buses have resumed their normal route.

Ohh well.Good Job no one lives out that way.Apart from the knuckle dragging inbreds. They are going to be upset as that is one less tree they can make love too .
Only a knuckle dragging inbred would leave a comment like that!! You certainly have no brains, so where the hell do you come from? Please don’t answer that as I am not in the slightest bit interested.
I blame the French bed bugs that are invading our country….Ho, sorry I meant young male war torn bed bugs…
I trust Kev and Rod are involved ?
Any updates on the Godshill tree? Also the No 3 bus?
Sadly, the tree had to be put down.
Always using dramatic words for headline.
Stops access would have done.
