Esplanade has announced a new, long-term fundraising partnership supporting Mountbatten Isle of Wight.
Mountbatten has provided support to the families of many Esplanade staff and customers and in recognition of the important role it plays within the Island community Esplanade has chosen to support the charity by making a donation for every vehicle sold from July 2023 onwards.
Every vehicle sold, new and used, will result in a donation being made by Esplanade which will amount to around £20,000 per annum.
There will also be further opportunity for each donation to be value matched by our customers and this will create a significant and sustainable contribution, all of which goes directly towards the provision of specialist support for those using services supplied by Mountbatten in our community.
Sales Manager of Esplanade, Brendan Cole, explains why supporting Mountbatten is so important:
“Until I met Nigel Hartley the CEO of Mountbatten, I had never fully understood just how much funding was required, year on year, to maintain the astonishing levels of care they provide, in often the most challenging circumstances for local families. The work they do, and the dedication of the amazing team, is truly exceptional and deeply humbling.
“Rather than a one-off donation, we wanted to do something that was sustainable, to help in their annual challenge to raise the significant funds to maintain their essential service. So, we have committed to a donation from every car we sell at Esplanade from July 2023 onwards.
“We will also be inviting our wonderful customers to match our donation and will be promoting the work of the Hospice in our showroom. As an organisation that only works in island communities, we fully appreciate the importance of supporting, and investing in, our local community, and it is obvious just how important an organisation like Mountbatten is to our Island home and its people.”
Chief Executive of Mountbatten Hospice Isle of Wight, Nigel Harley said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Esplanade for supporting us with this initiative.
“We must raise over £11 million every year to fund our services on the Island and that cost will go up as we reach more people who need our care.
“This commitment from Esplanade will be so valuable to us, not just financially but in helping to spread the word about our work and our message.
“Thank you to everyone at Esplanade, we really appreciate it.”

Well done esplanade, can’t see any other dealership doing this they all worry about there wallet to much.
What a waste of time and money and effort
why .our hospice needs every penny it can get .well done besplanade.
£25 ain’t much when you think how much vehicles cost at Esplanade
£100 would be ideal
Well done Esplanade! Grt charity xx
Gotta love their diversity ethic in that photo tho, lol!!
Would you buy a used car from these men? Look a bit downtrodden in those outfits. Would expect them to clean my car rather than sell me another. Pay them enough to get a decent suit! Maybe not full Swiss Tony but a smarter look.
I don’t trust the majority of Car Salesmen, the majority of them
talk a load of ballsh*t.
They are not needed, Dealerships could save
thousands of pounds in salaries and sell cars much cheaper to
Buyers.
All that is needed is a good website and buyers can purchase
from the website direct.
An Administrator could upload the vehicles with the
relevant prices, job done.
Except you need to take the car for a spin to make sure it isn’t a total heap.
