The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at a property fire in Lake this afternoon (Tuesday).
2 crews from Shanklin and Sandown were mobilised to the address on Ranelagh Road, off Lake Hill, at just before 14:40.
Island Echo is told that an electrical fire in a cupboard under the stairs has now been successfully extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
They’ve used a hose reel jet to bring the situation under control and are now utilising positive pressure ventilation to rid smoke from the semi-detached home.
A covering jet was also laid out.
A dog inside the property has escaped uninjured. No other injuries have been reported.
The residential road is currently blocked at the Lake Hill end while emergency services deal with the incident.
