With the Isle of Wight local elections just over 2 weeks away, residents are being encouraged to visit Island Echo’s sister site, www.isleofwight.vote, to learn more about the candidates standing in their area.
The standalone platform provides a comprehensive list of candidates, organised by ward, helping voters quickly see who is standing where ahead of polling day on Thursday 7th May.
In addition to current candidate information, as well as information about polling stations and how to vote, the site also offers access to historic Isle of Wight election results, giving context to how voting patterns have changed over time.
Candidates standing in the upcoming elections are now being invited to submit a bio and photograph for inclusion on the website. This aims to give voters a clearer understanding of those seeking election and help improve transparency. Information can be submitted by email to [email protected].
Isleofwight.vote continues to serve as a central hub for election-related information on the Isle of Wight, supporting informed decision-making at a crucial time for local democracy.

After looking I have decided to rip up my voting card.
Why is “Haylands and Swanmore” not pre-fixed with Ryde?
Has anyone mentioned to these candidates this page exists?
No real bio or pic for most of them.
None to convincing tbh, anonymous before we start.
Rip there goes my card.,
Jarman is obviously desperate, his posters with his mug on it are all over totland, even got two through the door the other day,and like others, promptly filed them in the bin,he even knocked on my door, said,”its me” which my reply was im not voting for you,he then said, and i quote, why not!
to which i replied,i dont have to give you an answer,im busy,go away!
voters have memories jarman,we remember you trying to oust peacy wilcox so you could stoke your ego and take her job,you are nothing but a tory in disguise, even some of those at totland parish council, and freshwater for that matter dont like you,i rellay hope you get booted out!
and as we all got another council tax hikes ,you got a pay rise, which you didnt refuse, clearly says, you have no morals, you seem to forget, you serve the electorate!
I wouldn’t vote for anyone who has made attempts to promote hate and racism on the island, taking sides in foreign wars. I won’t be voting for Mr Jarman.
