2nd-placed East Cowes Sports scored 5 goals as they boosted their promotion challenge with a comprehensive win over Newchurch in Harwoods Division 2 on Saturday.
East Cowes Sports’ goals came courtesy of Josh Richardson, Joe Porter, Jamie Wright, Roland Bryan and Maca Barnes.
ECS are now 6 points clear of 3rd-placed Sandown & Lake (who have a game in hand) but trail leaders High Park – who were without a game Saturday – by 10 points.
In other Division 2 games, Oakfield put 11 goals past Seaview with Nathan Roberts grabbing 4 goals, Jay Larbalestier bagging a brace, with Ben Gardener, Gary Hills, Riley Farrell, Jamie Phillips and Jos Townsend also on the scoresheet for the Slade Road side. Newport Reserves won their 2nd successive game by beating Ryde Saints at Seaclose after having lost their first 11 games of the season.

Whitecroft & Barton Sports have returned to the top of the table after overcoming Shanklin at the County Ground. Aidan Sainsbury opened the scoring, man-of-the-match Sam Yelland bagged a brace, with Kade Woodford scoring the final goal 5 minutes from full time.
W&B are now a point clear of Ventnor with a superior goal difference and 2 games in hand.
Cowes Sports Reserves 2-4 Northwood SJ
Northwood St Johns leapfrogged near neighbours Cowes Sports Reserves to climb to 7th place with a win at Westwood Park. John Bilton, James Cheek, James Flux and Barney Snaith were all on target for the visitors, with the Yachtsmen’s goals coming courtesy of Zac Fever-Norton and Sonny Myram
Osborne Coburg 2-2 Binstead & COB
4th-placed Osborne Coburg were held at home by bottom club Binstead at Victoria Rec. The Burg’s goals came courtesy of Jim Cantello and Josh Piper, with Mark Taylor taking the man-of-the-match accolade. Liam Lock and Mark Walters scored for Binstead.
Vectis 0-1 Brading Town
Brading beat Vectis at Cowes Enterprise College, with Scott Lawson scoring the only goal of the game.
