UPDATED: Police have established a cordon surrounding a family home in East Cowes this morning (Saturday).
Detectives from Newport CID are in attendance at the detached property on Osborne Heights, where investigations are underway. Response officers are keeping a scene guard.
According to neighbours, Police officers and an ambulance arrived on the scene at around 08:40 this morning but the ambulance crew soon left.
Island Echo understands that Police are frequently called to the address and were in attendance as recently as last night.
The property is said to be occupied by a young family; mum, dad and 3 young boys.
UPDATE @ 11:26 – Police remain both inside and outside the property, although there is no sign of any forensic teams at present.
A dog has been removed from the house and is now being cared for by neighbours.
Hampshire Constabulary are yet to issue a statement.
UPDATE @ 13:27 – Forensic investigators from the mainland have arrived at Osborne Heights this lunchtime, where they are carrying out an examination of the property at the centre of today’s incident.
Island Echo understands that Police are investigating a death at the address, but that the death is not being treated as suspicious. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene this morning.
The body is expected to be removed later on today.
