A vehicle fire was tackled by firefighters in Newport during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
1 wholetime appliance from Newport was mobilised at 02:04 to reports of a blaze at Meadow Green, off Whitepit Lane.
Just minutes after turning out, firefighters arrived on scene to discover a motorcycle well alight.
The single crew worked swiftly to bring the situation under control and make the scene safe using a hose reel jet.
It’s unclear at this stage how the fire started. Police have been informed.


























































































Either a stolen bike torched to ‘add’ final insult to the owner, or to hide evidence or, some local sick of some noisy bike perhaps being used for drug deliveries or other ‘constant’ use, then ‘lit it up’ to stop the annoyance.
Hardly likely to burn in cold damp weather otherwise.
