Police investigating an incident that saw a man in his 50s sustain injuries after being hit by a car have made an arrest today (Sunday).
As previously reported by Island Echo, officers were called to Scotchells Brook Lane at the entrance to Sandown Airfield yesterday morning after reports that a man had been hit by a car.
A 61-year-old man from Sandown has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has since been released under investigation.

I seem to recall a fractured hip being reported, obviously not now as serious (thankfully for the injured person) otherwise perhaps a more serious charge, instead of one which just a black eye would have attracted.
Not a very nice man by all accounts.
Surely they mean 61 year old petulant child !
