A permanent replacement for Dr Rory Fox has been found for Ryde Academy, who are now seeking assistance from the headteacher who has turned Wales’ worst school around in just 4 years.
Mrs Joy Ballard is set to join Ryde Acdemy at the start of the new school year in September, leaving Willows High School in South Wales which is to star on television later this year.
Joy said:
“I am absolutely delighted to join the team at Ryde and to lead the academy further forward. I believe it has the potential to be a great school. Because I have lived locally in Southampton all my life, I am passionate about the Island, its people and all it has to offer.
“I know there has been a great deal of change over the past few years and fully understand the need for stability whilst securing the very best outcomes for the students at the school. I’m so looking forward to getting to know them all.”
The new principal is said to be a ‘visionary leader who has achieved great success through her unlimited enthusiasm, professional commitment and drive to ensure that every learner strives to achieve their very best’.
