A 32-year-old and a 24-year-old have been arrested following a serious assault at a residential property in Binstead earlier this week.
Police were called to a property on Jellicoe Road at around 10:30 on Thursday morning having received reports of an assault.
At the scene, a 32-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a person thereby occasioning actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm with intent.
The 2nd male – a 24-year-old also from Ryde – was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Island Echo understands that representatives from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary visited the address yesterday (Friday) as work to establish what exactly went on gets underway.
UPDATE @ 11:30 – Police have confirmed that 24-year-old Ryan Hopewell, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court today (Saturday).
The other male – a 32-year-old – has been released on bail until the 1st January 2025.
