The Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary has welcomed its new community engagement leader, Tiffany Harvey.
The Wroxall-based sanctuary recently won funding from the National Lottery’s Community Fund which has made this brand new role possible. It will allow the charity to increase the variety and range of community and stakeholder engagement – vital to the survival of the much-loved sanctuary.
Tiffany is currently in the process of creating purpose-built projects which link the work of the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary to local groups.
Tiffany says:
“As the first and newly appointed Community Engagement Leader (CEL) here at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, I have been looking into local groups that I think we could work in partnership with to enhance the community projects that the sanctuary already undertakes.
“As this is the first time this post has been undertaken at the IW Donkey Sanctuary, I am very much excited about the future of this job role and working with the community. I am mostly looking forward to developing relationships with our local community groups and tailoring interactive activities for the individual community needs, with the hope of seeing the disadvantaged and disengaged flourish within our activities”.
Anyone local community groups that would like to get involved with the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary – and take part in a purpose-built project specifically tailored to their group – then contact [email protected] or call 01983 852693.

I hope this is a voluntary position after recent staff problems that has eaten into our donations.
It’s a post funded by the National Lottery, so no it’s not voluntary. It’s in the second sentence. Have a read of the article.
The cafe staff there are wonderful and the care taken and variety of food and drinks is exceptional.
A far more pleasant dining experience than many pubs. Well done all
