Motorists heading in and out of Cowes are being diverted at Northwood from today (Tuesday) as Island Roads carry out footway improvement works in the area.
Nodes Road has been closed between Northwood Garage and Three Gates Road to allow the footway works along the busy stretch of main road.
The closure is in force from 09:30-16:00 each weekday and will continue until Wednesday 13th April.
The set of permanent traffic lights outside Northwood Garage have been switched off to assist with traffic flow, with all vehicles being diverted via Newport Road.
Homeowners can still access their properties.
They’ve only just finished re-working the bus stop at Uplands Road.
Brilliant co-ordination!
Does last November count as ‘just finished’?
Well played island roads. Shut the road completely, so they can park their vans in the road. Brilliant.
The road is closed because it’s a danger to the workers. Too many close encounters due to the brilliant drivers on the island ?
Island Roads should be called Island Pavements.Roads in a disgraceful state just get ignored.e,g.Great Preston Road in Ryde.
By the usual 1 guy working and 3 leaning on shovels
